What Modi's Win Indicates

Dear Mr GG
With all due respect to your opinion, I can't but be amused at the absurdity of your logic about freedom...on one side you say that India has sought for a thousand years without success...on the other you want India to control and eradicate terrorism, and on top of that you don't offer any alternatives as to how the latter objective can b accomplished! Wow...u can't have ur cake n eat it too...can you? It should b pretty obvious to any student of India's history...esp. of the last millenia that India or to be more specific its leaders' approaches to preserving the integrity as well as sovereignity of this nation have rarely yielded, if any, dividends.

Please recall as to what ultimately happened to Prithvi Raj Chauhan after he spared Mahmud of Ghaznavi...the former was put to death by the latter..as a mark of gratitude for sparing his life...or in other instance, how Britishers who landed on these shores to trade ended up ruling this nation for more than two centuries...or during independence, even after Gandhi n his pusillanimous Congress (lead by that Brit Nehru) agreed on partitioning the nation...n on top of that resorted to fasting so that Pakistan could have 55 crores when India's own citizens as well as the newly arrived Hindus-Sikhs from across the border were in dire need of assistance. In that context..did Muslims...those who stayed behind (despite the agreed on formula of complete swap of populations) worked on assimiliating themselves with non-Muslims...NO...they kept on whining as to how they were being discriminated against or kept from progressing (I wonder how come we've had Muslim Presidents or Muslim Chief Ministers or the father of our Missile program or with the Khan troika ruling Hindi cinema for almost last two decades)...when it was they themselves who wanted Madrasa education for their kids...it was they who whine n throw tantrums @ every imagined slight @ their religion or their figureheads by either the govt or non-Muslims. And...these Muslims can set the whole train on fire n get away with killing innocent people...children, women included...but Hindus, according to ur absurd logic, should never even utter a word of protest...they should just take it lying down...isn't it?

So...by now it should b quite clear that the conventional approach towards solving all these problems is not working...so why not try a different approach...n u (as well as others 'bleeding-heart liberals')...have no qualms in branding Modi and others like him fascists...sometimes I wonder are u guys for real...if u have ur way...Hindus should just offer themselves for sacrifice at the alter of appeasement to minorities...Hindus, despite being a majority in this nation, they despite being trying to get along with others, ignoring the appeasement of the minorities (read Muslims & Xtians) by the govt and the ELM media...esp the latter which jump @ every opportunity to brand Hindus as fundamentalist n terrorists...btw, these morons should probably look up the actual definition of fundamentalists before they rush in to use this term 'Hindu fundamentalists'.....have Hindus tried to impose their will on this nation in any way...have they agitated for laws based on Hindu religion, do they say that its only their gods or deities that matter...while the rest all are false...are they indulging in rampant conversion..robbing esp the adivasis of their values, cultures or is it missionaries who r doing so...n that to brazenly.

Again...Mr GG...please wake up n smell some coffee...its time for change whether u like it or not...n I know change is always-always hard to accept.

Regards!

What Modi's Win Indicates

Hello Tanushri,
Thanx for responding to my comment. Aah..before India (or its so called moron leaders) embarked on helping the neighbors...(read Bangladesh)...well it would have saved them a lot of heartburn to remember that old adage: The road to hell is paved with good intentions. And also, they should have remembered the past before making friendhip journies across the border...(read Vajpayee '99)...I guess someone should remind India's myopic leaders that...esp. when dealing with nations like (Na)Pakistan or B'desh for that matter...one should always look @ the track record of the opposing party before you make ur move...as they say: You judge yourself...by what you feel capable of doing...while others judge you...by what you've already done.
In that context, we Indians (or our leaders) never kept Pakistan's treacherous past in mind when dealing with them...hell for that matter...that nation itself came into being after one of the most daring acts of secesions a minority was able to pull off anywhere in the world...
Regarding Rajeev Gandhi...the less said the better...he played with fire (as his dear Maa in Punjab) n paid for it with his life...well guess what...no surprises there...as goes the saying...You made ur bed...u lie on it...or for that matter...You lie with the dogs...you'll wake up with the fleas.
To sum up...the destiny or for that matter the path that India was forced to chart esp. in the first five decades of its independence is the doing of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty...IMO the bane of India...its only when this family was out of power did India make some progress.
BTW, thanx for finding my 'sickularist' word amusing...

Warm regards!

What Modi's Win Indicates

>>I neither like Modi nor advocate his cause...

Tanushri...although a well-balanced post, I am confused by the above statement of yours. Did Modi advocate any communal approach...did he utter any words against Muslims... a la that moron Rajeev Gandhi.."when a tree falls, the ground around it shakes"...after the assasination of his mother Indira.

I frankly don't understand as to what kind of personality people expect in a leader...like that of Shikandi bench-warmer PM of ours...nice, educated, likeable but with no spine...hello...I for one would go for a leader who delivers result, who shows some spine instead of kowtowing to the minorities or radical elements...n who delivers what he or she promises

Tanushri, nice guys always finish last. So there's no point being nice esp. in politics, which itself is a very complicated arena. India has been playing nice since independence...what did it get in return....instability, wars, insurgency...all propoagted from across the border in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh. Oh with Bangladesh, remember India helped in its liberation...and what kind of gratitude we get in return...influx of illegal migrants, jihadis, terrorists.

Also, for a leader to be respected, he has to have a proven track record, which Modi has unlike the 'secular' rule Congress has subjected the citizens of this nation too. Yeah..if one goes by the logic of these 'sickularists', we should all be living in an environment where things are gard to come by, where everything is controlled by govt. (license raj), corruption is rampant, govt expenditure shoots thru the roof n development is nil...but ain't we glad we have secularism to gloat about.

The point is in context of a great leader...you don't demand respect, you command it OK...'coz if all those lofty words coimg out of your mouth, if you don't follow them up with concrete action, nobody is gonna believe you, and once your credibility goes down the drain, its next to impossible to restore it. So, in that sense Modi has shown what a true and a great leader is like. Now, if Muslims wanted to keep themselves aloof thats there problem. The issue with Muslims (read radical and 'sickularist' a la Teesta, Shabana, Javed Akhtar n their non-Muslim counterparts like Rajdeep, Pranoy, Barkha, Karan Thapar) is that their heart only bleeds for Muslims, we don't hear them bleeting day-in-day-out on the plight of Hindus-Sikhs in Kashmir or for that matter minorities in Pakistan or Bangladesh. Why these double or triple standards? The problem with these so-called Muslims is that wherever they are in a minority, they talk about democratic rights, wherever they are in a majority, they fight for theocracy.
